The Tools and Applications Workshop (WFA) is an important forum for members of the academy and industry to showcase their latest tools, prototypes, applications, and demos. With a hands-on attitude, the WFA emphasizes the demonstrations of the tools and applications, their development experience, deployment, and usability, as well as the opportunities and perspectives that they create.
All accepted papers will be available on SBC’s digital library . During the course of the event, the tools/applications will receive feedback from a committee of experts in innovation and entrepreneurship. The authors of the best tools/applications will receive award certificates and will be featured on SBC’s media channels.
The workshop’s topics of interest are the same as the main track of the conference. We also welcome submissions of applications featuring innovative proposals of analyses and/or methodologies over datasets and software of interest by our community (see HERE ).
Submitted papers must be original content with no previous or ongoing publication. Authors must electronically submit an article in English or Portuguese, of up to four pages, including all figures and references.
The paper must include a clear description of the tools/applications:
It is strongly recommended that authors provide in the article URLs to the website or download a demonstration video of their tool/application.
Articles should be written in a way that allows “ double-blind review “. This requires that the author IDs be replaced with “ removed for double-blind review “at the beginning of the article and in any references to his previous work.
The publication of the paper is conditioned on the registration of at least one author, who will present the work during the WebMedia 2022. The workshop’s organizing committee will work on means to promote in-person participation through grants and/or lodging options.
Candidates must submit their work electronically through the JEMS System , choosing the WFA track.
All submissions to the WFA must follow the provided templates:
