Angelo Ciarlini is Director of Data Science and Analytics at Localiza, where he leads the development of data-intensive innovation approaches to build the future of sustainable mobility. Before joining Localiza in 2019, Angelo was a consultant (Expert Data Scientist) at McKinsey for 2 years, Head of Research at Dell EMC for 5 years and had an academic career, being a university professor at UNIRIO for 10 years, where he worked in research and teaching in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Databases and Algorithms. Angelo has a degree in Computer Engineering from PUC-Rio and a Masters in Databases and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, also from PUC-Rio. He has authored more than 30 patents in the areas of Data Science and massively parallel data processing and has more than 50 publications in technical journals and conferences.
Marcello Deoarez Moreira Dos Santos

Graduated in Information Systems, he participated in several Agency and City Hall projects, such as Curitiba App, Saúde Já, Curitiba Lê Digital, Educational System, Check-in at the locations, among others. He was responsible for implementing Microsoft 365 as a telework tool at Agência Curitiba during the pandemic period until today. He has taken the extension course Modernization and Digital Transformation in Brazil, created and offered by the Technical University of Denmark for Brazilian public agencies.

Eng. An electrician from UFPR, he already has a PhD in Underwater Robotics in France, founded a startup that was accelerated in Canada, and directed a large renewable energy company in Brazil. Passionate about transforming people’s lives with technology, today he works as a special projects manager at Mobi7/Localiza where he works with innovation projects in the area of IoT and mobility.
Mirella M. Moro
Professor – Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)
Mirella M. Moro has a Ph.D., an M.Sc., and a B.Sc. in Computer Science. She was a member of the ACM Education Council, Coordinator of the Special Commission on Databases at SBC, creator of the SBC Horizons electronic magazine, and Director of Education at SBC (Brazilian Computer Society, 2009-2015), where she is currently Councilor and Coordinator of the Digital Girls Program (together with Prof. Aleteia Araujo, UnB). Her research interests include data-driven research, social analysis, gender diversity, and Computer Science education. She is also an advocate of increasing female participation in Computing and the IT market.
Vinícius Mota (mediator)
Professor – Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES)
Adjunct professor at the Department of Computer Science and collaborating faculty of the Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGI) at the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo. He holds a Ph.D. from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and an International jointly Ph.D. from the Université Paris-Est (2015). Bachelor in Computer Science from the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (2007). His research interests comprehend the full life-cycle of Internet of Things: low-cost embedded hardware development, communication protocols, data modeling and predictions, and its privacy issues. Furthermore, his also interested in the implications of crowdsensing and human mobility to the next-generation mobile networks.
