XI Workshop on Ongoing Thesis and Dissertations
The XI Workshop on Ongoing Thesis and Dissertations of WebMedia (WTD 2011) is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of ongoing MsC and PhD work in the areas of Multimedia, Hypermedia and Web. The main goal of this track is to stimulate discussion and to provide students with feedback on their current work. In addition, the community will have an overview of the national research status in the area. The track also aims at stimulating integration and cooperation of researchers giving a wider visibility of the current research for the academic and industrial community.
All papers submitted to the WTD-WebMedia will be peer-reviewed by members of an Evaluation Committee. The selected papers will be presented during the Workshop and will receive feedback from experienced researchers. We expect to favor, at the end of the event, the integration amongst Universities, students and professors.
Authors are invited to submit original work, containing the proposals and partial results of their scientific or technological research activities. The topics are the same as in the main conference, which can be found above.
Authors must use the EasyChair system (Submission page: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=wtd2011) to electronically submit their MsC/PhD work overview. Paper can be written in English or in Portuguese, but only the PDF format is accepted. Papers must follow the style guidelines from ACM (see http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html) and should contain up to 5 pages. The first page should contain the follow information: Title, Student name, Advisor name, Program (MsC or PhD), University / Graduation Program, Starting date, Expected date for conclusion, keywords and Abstract. The remaining pages should contain the following sections: theoretical background, problem identification, goals, expected contributions, methodology, contributions; current status of the work, and related work. Paper acceptance requires that the student registers for the conference in order to present the work, since the workshop aims at promoting the discussion about the ongoing work.
Important dates:
- Submission deadline: July 10,2011 July 24, 2011
- Notification: August 08, 2011 August 18,2011
- Final Version: August 18, 2011 August 28,2011
VIII Worshop on Ongoing Undergraduate Research
The Workshop on Ongoing Undergraduate (WTIC - Workshop de Trabalhos de Iniciação Científica) is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of undergraduate ongoing researches in the Multimedia, Hypermedia and Web areas. The main goal is to stimulate the integration of undergraduate students with the academic and industrial members.
Authors are invited to submit their ongoing work, including proposals and partial results of their technological or scientific research. Papers will be peer-reviewed by a Technical Committee and the selected papers will be presented during the WTIC. Therefore, the paper acceptance requires the student registration for the Symposium to present the work.
Authors should use the EasyChair system (Submission page: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wtic2011) to submit their papers. Papers can be written in English or in Portuguese, but only papers in the PDF format will be accepted. The papers must follow the ACM style guidelines ( see http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html) and should have up to 3 pages.
Important dates:
- Submission deadline: July 10,2011 July 24, 2011

- Final Version: August 18, 2011 August 28, 2011
X Worshop on Tools and Applications
Tools and Applications Workshop have been traditionally promoted as an integrating event of WebMedia as a session. The session is an important forum where both academic and industrial members can present their latest tools or prototypes. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the Tools and Applications Program Committee. The selected tools/applications selected will presented and demonstrated during the symposium.
You are cordially invited to submit works on the topics of interest of WebMedia2011, as listed here.
The papers describing the tools/applications must be electronically submitted through the EasyChair system (Submission page: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=wtawebmedia2011). It is strongly recommended that authors make the tool/application (or a suitable version) available for downloading during the paper evaluation period. Papers submitted to the Tools and Applications Session of WebMedia 2011 must be original, and can not be simultaneously submitted to other conferences or journals, neither previously published. The paper acceptance requires that at least one author will register for the conference in order to present the work.
The paper describing the tool/application should explain, at least, and clearly:
(i) the tool/application goal;
(ii) its architecture; and
(iii) its main functionalities.
Papers should have up to 3 (three) pages, including all figures, references and appendices, and must follow the ACM style (see http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html). Papers can be submitted in English or in Portuguese. All papers must be in PDF format.
